Nebraska hosts North Dakota State for the second time this season in a midweek matchup tomorrow night at Hawks Field at Haymarket Park.

 

First pitch between the Huskers and Bison is scheduled for 6:05 p.m.

Nebraska vs. North Dakota State

• Nebraska holds a perfect 7-0 record against North Dakota State in the all-time series.

• In their last meeting earlier this season, the Huskers came away with a 4-1 victory over the Bison on March 28 at Hawks Field.

• Prior to last season’s meeting, the two teams last met in a doubleheader in 2005.

• Brice Matthews is one of three players nationally with at least 15 home runs and 15 stolen bases this season.

• Matthews and North Carolina’s Mac Horvath are the only two players at the Power Five level with the 15 homers and 15 stolen bases, joining Morehead State’s Ryley Preece.

• Nebraska is one of two teams nationally to be ranked in the top 50 in all three facets of the game.

• The Huskers are ranked 25th in batting average (.307), 38th in earned run average (4.54) and 16th in fielding percentage (.980).

• Nebraska is the only Power Five school to be ranked in the top 50 of all three categories, while Oral Roberts (Summit League) is also ranked in the top 50 of all three categories.

• Nebraska is one of 10 teams nationally with at least three players with 13 or more home runs this season.

• Max Anderson leads the Big Red with 16 homers, followed by Brice Matthews and Gabe Swansen with 15 and 13 home runs, respectively.

• Nebraska is one of six Power Five schools with three players having 13-plus home runs, joining Florida (SEC), Georgia (SEC), LSU (SEC), Maryland (Big Ten) and South Carolina (SEC).

• FGCU (ASUN) leads the way with six players homering at least 13 times this season, while the remaining nine teams have three players reaching the 13-homer mark.

 

Huskers Slug Eight Multi-Homer Games in 2023

• Entering May, five Huskers have totaled eight multi-homer games for the Big Red this season.

• Josh Caron, Cole Evans and Brice Matthews have each homered twice in a game once this season, while Max Anderson has three multi-homer games and Gabe Swansen has two multi-homer games this season.

• The eight multi-homer games this season matches the season-high total set in 2000, 2001 and 2005.

7 – Nebraska holds a perfect 7-0 mark against North Dakota State in the all-time series after picking up a 4-1 win earlier this season in Lincoln.

5 – Five Huskers are hitting above .300 this season. Brice Matthews (.392) and Max Anderson (.389) have led NU at the plate, followed by Casey Burnham (.324), Gabe Swansen (.309) and Cole Evans (.306).
