Huskers Clinch Perfect Home Record with Sweep Over Wolverines

Lincoln, Neb. – The top-ranked Nebraska volleyball team triumphed over Michigan in a decisive 3-set sweep (25-15, 25-12, 25-20) on Friday night, delighting a crowd of 8,815 at the Bob Devaney Sports Center. The victory marks a stellar home regular-season finale, leaving the Huskers with an unblemished 17-0 record at home, a feat last achieved in 2017.

Dominant Display on Home Court

Nebraska, now standing at 26-0 overall and 17-0 in Big Ten play, showcased their dominance throughout the match. The Huskers exhibited superior control, with a .368 hitting percentage compared to Michigan’s .047. Nebraska outperformed in kills (41-27), blocks (8-5), and digs (45-34), asserting their authority on the court.

Standout Performances

Andi Jackson led the offensive charge with nine kills, hitting an impressive .727 and contributing three blocks. Harper Murray matched with nine kills and added five digs. Bekka Allick’s contribution was notable with seven kills on .700 hitting and five blocks, while Merritt Beason chipped in with seven kills and nine digs. Ally Batenhorst made her presence felt with five kills and four blocks.

Defensive Prowess and Skilled Setting

Lexi Rodriguez was pivotal in defense, amassing 15 digs and four set assists. Setter Bergen Reilly efficiently managed the game with 28 assists, supplementing the effort with six digs and four kills.

The first set saw Nebraska take early control, leading 6-2 and extending the gap to 12-7. Consistent team effort led to a 25-15 win, with a .333 hitting rate. The second set witnessed the Huskers’ dominance, as they surged from a 5-3 lead to a commanding 11-3, eventually wrapping up the set at 25-12. The final set had Nebraska trailing briefly at 7-5, but a determined 6-1 run shifted the momentum, leading to a 25-20 victory and completing the sweep.
