Nebraska (3-4, 2-2 Big Ten) return to business as usual this week after a bye last Saturday. The Huskers will go on the road this Saturday to face Purdue (3-4, 1-3 Big Ten) at Ross Ade Stadium in West Lafayette, IN. Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m. central time.

Purdue is currently a six-point favorite over Nebraska, despite losing to Rutgers 14-12 Saturday in Piscataway, N.J.

Injury Update

Sophomore running back Tre Bryant will have season-ending knee surgery on Tuesday, according to Coach Riley. The team is now pursuing a medical redshirt for Bryant, who hasn’t played since the second half of the Oregon game.

“I think (Bryant) would be a great applicant for getting this year back,” Riley said. “It also gives him his best chance to be healthy for the next go around in the spring.”

Safeties Josh Kalu (hamstring), Aaron Williams (neck) and Antonio Reed (knee) are all likely to play after missing the Ohio State game. Receiver J.D. Spielman (shoulder) didn’t practice during the bye week after getting hurt late in the game against the Buckeyes, but is likely to play against Purdue.

Linebacker Luke Gifford (hip) is questionable. Another linebacker, Dedrick Young (wrist) is doubtful this week.

New Kickoff Time

Nebraska’s game against Northwestern at Memorial Stadium on Nov. 4 will be a 2:30 p.m. kickoff. The game will be televised on the Big Ten Network. KLIN will carry the Husker Sports Network broadcast live, with pregame coverage beginning at 9:30.

KLIN’s “Inside Husker Sports” will provide an extra half-hour of pregame coverage on Nov. 4, beginning at 9 a.m.

The “Moos” is “Loos”

Nebraska athletic director Bill Moos began the first official day of his new job Monday after being introduced last Sunday. Moos had previously been the A.D. at Washington State since 2010.
