Huskers Announce 2022 Schedule – University of Nebraska

The Nebraska soccer team is set to play 18 games this fall, as the Big Ten released its 2022 women’s soccer schedule. The Huskers will play 10 conference, eight non-conference and a pair of exhibition games in August.
 
NU will host 12 regular-season games in the eighth year of Hibner Stadium, after hosting 10 matches in the 2021 season.
 
The Big Red will face a challenging schedule as eight opponents qualified for the 2021 NCAA Tournament. Ohio State lost in the first round, Purdue, St. Louis, NC State and USC advanced to the second round, Penn State and Wisconsin made it to the Sweet 16 and Michigan fell in the Elite 8.
 
The Huskers will play two exhibition games to start the season. On Aug. 7, Nebraska will hit the road and face Omaha before returning home and matching up with Tulsa on Aug. 12 where attendance will be free.
 
The next week, the Big Red holds its season opener on Thursday, Aug. 18 against San Diego State. The game against the Aztecs will mark the first game of the five-game homestand as the Huskers host Oklahoma (Aug. 21), Arizona (Aug. 25), Weber State (Aug. 28) and Portland (Sept. 1).

Nebraska will then travel to St. Louis for a matchup on Sept. 4 before returning to Lincoln for four-straight home games starting with NC State on Sept. 8. The Huskers will then face USC on Sept. 11 and begin conference play with Minnesota on Sept. 16.

The Huskers will continue Big Ten competition with a home game against Northwestern on Sept. 22 and three-straight away games against Michigan (Sept. 25), Purdue (Sept. 29) and Indiana (Oct. 2).

 

On Oct. 8, the Big Red faces Ohio State at home to begin a two-game homestand. The following weekend, Nebraska hosts Illinois on Oct. 13 before traveling to border rival Iowa on Oct. 16.

To close out the regular season, Nebraska will host Penn State on Oct. 20 and travel to Wisconsin on Oct. 23.

 

The 2022 Big Ten Tournament starts Oct. 30, with games played on the campuses of the top four seeds. The semifinals will take place Thursday, Nov. 3 and the finals will be played on Sunday, Nov. 6 in Columbus, Ohio.
