Husker Running Back Maurice Washington Cited for Possession of Marijuana and a Pipe

KLIN confirmed with a UNL spokeswoman that Nebraska running back Maurice Washington was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia around midnight on Monday after the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Police Department found Washington in possession of a small amount of marijuana and a pipe in his dorm room.

In a statement, the Nebraska Athletic Department said “we are aware of the situation and are addressing it.”

Washington is also facing one felony charge and one misdemeanor in his home state of California for allegedly sending a video to his ex-girlfriend of her engaged in a sex act while she was a minor. Washington sent the video to her in March of 2018 but the video was recorded in 2015, when she was 15. Washington did not record the video nor did he take part in it.
