I hope you all had a great Fourth of July weekend!
July means that we are closer to football news. Our new Big Ten brethren are officially part of the conference…UCLA, USC, Washington and Oregon. The B1G is now a transcontinental conference.
Let’s wrap our heads around that for a minute. The definition of “conference” as most of us knew it is now dead. “Conference” now means a group of teams that are monetarily aligned for the near term.
Plane rides and game start times be damned.
What do you think of our new expanded Big Ten? I actually love the idea in theory.
Logistically, this conference has a lot of work to do. How do you figure out travel schedules across four time zones? How do you plan a team’s meals, workouts, and pattern when you have to move them several thousand miles at a time?
