Husker legacy Grant Lohr will walk on with football program | Recruiting

Another day, another walk-on commit for the Nebraska football program.

For the second consecutive night, it’s the son of a former Husker.

On Tuesday evening, running back and defensive back Grant Lohr (Jenks, Oklahoma) announced his intention to join the football program as a walk-on via Twitter.

Lohr is the son of former Husker Jason Lohr, a nose tackle who appeared in 45 games and finished his career in the early 2000s.

Grant Lohr had a productive senior season for Jenks High, racking up more than 1,600 offensive yards (1,355 rushing) and 25 total offensive touchdowns. Defensively, Lohr had 44 tackles (five sacks) and three interceptions, one of which he returned he returned for a touchdown.

Lohr’s verbal pledge comes as the Huskers continue to grow their walk-on class on the eve of the second football signing period. He announced his commitment one night after another legacy player, athlete Michael Booker III, decided to do the same.

Nebraska’s walk-on class now has 21 known players.
