Nebraska Athletics announced the creation of the Husker Games for Saturday, April 26, showcasing Husker football, volleyball and soccer. The event was announced as a replacement for the Red/White Football Spring Game, which was ended after football coach Matt Rhule said the spring game as an 11-on-11 scrimmage was no longer practical due to roster limits and the risk of players being recruited by other programs.
Gates will open at Memorial Stadium at 12:30 p.m. ahead of a 1 p.m. women’s flag football game between a Nebraska intermural all-star team and Midland University’s flag football team. The 2025 Nebraska Football team will hit the field at 1 p.m. for a series of events, including 7-on-7 games, skills competitions similar to the NFL’s Pro Bowl games, fan engagement activities and other events. In addition to previewing the 2025 team, Nebraska greats of the past will also put their skills on display in various competitions. Tickets are $10 for adults and $1 for youth eighth grade and under. Seats in the west club seats are available for $20 each.
After the football event, the Husker soccer team will hold a spring exhibition match against Wyoming at Hibner Stadium at 4:30 p.m. Admission is free. The Nebraska volleyball team hits the floor at the Devaney Center at 6:30 p.m. to take on Kansas in an exhibition match. Tickets range from $20-60 for the general public and $10 for UNL Students.
Surrounding the events with the Husker teams, tours will be offered to the new Osborne Legacy Complex on a limited basis. For $50, fans can take a one-hour tour of Nebraska’s locker room, weight room, recovery areas, training table, walk-thru and team meeting rooms, ending with a Tunnel Walk experience onto Tom Osborne Field. Also, a food truck festival will be going on at East Stadium from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., showcasing local food and non-alcoholic beverage options. And, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Husker Athletics will have an equipment sale at the Hawks Championship Center, including clearance and discounted team merchandise from both Nebraska Athletics equipment and discounted merchandise from local retailers. Admission is free with a purchased ticket to any Husker Games event.
Tickets for the event go on sale Tuesday at 9 a.m. for Huskers Athletic Fund members and to the general public at 3 p.m. Tuesday.
