Husker fans to be allowed at remaining games this spring

For the first time since March 11, 2020, Husker fans will be able to watch regular-season competitions in person.

Nebraska Athletics announced Wednesday morning that fans will be allowed at events beginning immediately. The decision comes from the Big Ten’s Athletic Directors and the Council of Presidents and Chancellors to follow local health guidelines and restrictions.

“I applaud the decision to allow fans to return to conference venues for the remainder of the 2020-21 athletic season,” Nebraska Athletic Director Bill Moos said. “This is another positive step as we move closer to normal operations in the Big Ten and across college athletics. Our staff has worked closely with local health officials to finalize details and provide a safe environment in our facilities. I know Nebraska fans are eager to get back to cheering on their Huskers in person, and we look forward to welcoming them back.”

The first games that fans will be able to attend are Friday’s baseball and softball home openers. Tickets will be available for baseball, softball, soccer, volleyball and football’s May 1 spring game.

Priority for tickets will go to season ticket holders for the most recent ticketed season. Those season ticket holders can expect emails today. All ticket sales will be for single games only and will be on mobile.

The announcement adds that more details for the number of fans allowed at each event based on venue capacity, as well as seating plans and other health and safety measures “will be announced soon.”
