Honestly, We Won’t Be 7-0

This is the same team it’s always been: losing close games, losing games they should win and failing to meet expectations. Why does everyone pencil in a 7-0 start? What has this team done since Game 12 last year to prove they can beat Colorado, Illinois and Purdue – three teams we MASSIVELY struggle with?

I see five games we should easily win: UTEP, UNI, Rutgers, Indiana, UCLA. Outside of that, we haven’t proven we can win. I like our chances vs. Illinois & Purdue to get us to 7 wins. But, they own us.

Colorado, Wisconsin and Iowa are toss-up games. I lean slight loss on all three. I don’t think we have a chance at Ohio State or USC.

Shatters Expecations: 9-3 or above
Exceeds Expecations: 8-4
Meets Expecations: 7-5 or 6-6
Below Expecations: 5-7
Failure: 4-8 or below

This whole “we’ll be 7-0 & top 15 at Ohio State” schtick needs to stop. It’s unrealistic. It won’t happen. This team is bound to break our hearts so tamper expectations immediately.
