Here’s hoping Troy Dannen notices something during the regional

O'Brate stadium officially opened in 2021. While completed before the 2020 season, it's opening was delayed due to COVID.

The stadium is further proof that many Universites around the sport have happily invested in college baseball. Mississippi State and Vanderbilt find themselves in this category as well.

If you were to look closely, you'd notice some structural similarities between O'Brate and Haymarket Park. And it's here I'd like to make a request: It's time for some upgrades here in Lincoln.

While Haymarket Park is absolutely beautiful, it could use some additions here and there to bring it to the next level. I think the first order of business would be adding seats to the berms between 1st and the foul pole, and 3rd and the bullpen. This could even boost capacity, as organizing fans into seats rather than spread across blankets would be more efficient. You could price these seats between general admission and the seats in the infield.

Some work should also be done in left and right field. Adding consessions would be a plus, especially considering a bar already exists in right center.

Haymarket has good bones. With a new agreement between the Huskers and the Salt Dogs on alcohol sales, it's time to build on those bones Mr. Dannen.
