Hear me out….having a year off might be okay.

Here’s the link to the the article that got me thinking about this: [Link](https://sports.yahoo.com/time-to-face-reality-no-one-is-playing-college-football-in-the-fall-170634809.html). Here’s my take:

Having a season off, at this point in our programs history under Frost, is actually okay. OBVIOUSLY we would rather have a season and get to watch football this fall. Of course the best way to measure growth is on the field. Yes, this assumes that no one would lose a year of eligibility. Yes, I know this will be hard for non-football teams that get funding from football money / downtown Lincoln /the general well being of the state….

Those disclaimers aside…idk. I keep seeing these videos of our young guys working and thinking hmmmm. Option 1 – A likely 6 win season and more pessimism, Option 2 – A year off to develop young talent and let our kids adjust to the new OC’s system without the weekly scrutiny and hand wringing.

Again. OBVIOUSLY I would choose option 1 (come on, we could get 7 wins!). But if forced into Option 2….is it really that bad for our program’s development at this point?
