The Jacksonville (Fla.) Sandalwood alum threw for 4,464 yards and 30 touchdowns over three seasons with the Yellow Jackets, but he also ran for 1,152 yards and 11 touchdowns. He ran for 81 and 95 yards in back-to-back wins over Pittsburgh and Duke this season. Sims sprained his foot early in a Oct. 20 loss to Virginia and did not play again in 2022.

Several more transfers are headed to NU this weekend, too.
Rhode Island transfer Ajani Cornelius confirmed on Thursday he will be in Lincoln after he entered the portal this week. The 6-foot-5, 310-pounder started 22 games at right tackle with the FCS program the last two seasons. The visit is a coup for Nebraska, which is among more than 20 schools to offer Cornelius this week including others like Tennessee, Florida, Auburn and Oregon. He was also graded third highest among all FCS O-linemen this season by Pro Football Focus and as the second-best run blocker at that level.
Texas A&M defensive lineman Elijah Jeudy previously announced his visit to Nebraska this weekend. The Philadelphia product has four years of eligibility left and has also reported portal offers from Wisconsin, Penn State, Colorado and others.
On the junior college front, Sacramento (Calif.) American River Community College edge rusher Kai Wallin makes his third of four official visits to various schools. He’s already seen Oregon State and Indiana, and travels to Kansas next weekend. Wallin’s JUCO head coach, Jon Osterhout, worked as a Nebraska graduate assistant under Bill Callahan and “can’t say enough good things about the place.”
“I like everything,” Wallin said of Nebraska. He had 33 tackles and five sacks for American River. “The game day atmosphere, the community love, the people.
