Future Husker Yvan Ouedraogo’s Run in the FIBA U18 European Championships Comes to a Close in France’s Loss to Turkey

Incoming Nebraska basketball freshman Yvan Ouedraogo’s run in the FIBA U18 European Championships in Greece came to a disappointing end on Thursday. Ouedraogo’s France lost to Turkey 69-64 in the quarterfinals. Up until that point, France had not lost a game in the competition.

Ouedraogo picked up two early fouls and as a result, sat most of the game, playing for only four minutes and 55 seconds. In five games at the tournament, the 6-foot-9, 260 pound forward averaged 2.2 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1 assist.

The 17 year old Ouedraogo will meet up with the Huskers next week in Italy. The Nebraska basketball team will spend nine days there and play three different European teams over four games. The trip will last from August 3rd to August 13th.
