Frost’s Offensive Vision

Can anyone peg Frost’s vision for the offense?

Starting with the recruiting of Haarberg a couple years ago and continuing with Torres, it is apparent Frost started planning to run an offense with a prototypical pocket passing QB. Hiring Whipple is a continuation of that thought process.

Last season, they leaned really heavily into the QB run game and added some modern option concepts. Personally, I loved the way it looked. I couldn’t shake a nagging feeling that we’d never have QB stability with that design as no QB is going through a B1G season averaging 20 carries a game and keeping a quality backup will forever be more difficult with the portal.

Was his plan always to use Adrian in a QB run centric offense with Logan as his backup until Adrian’s clock ran out then make a similar move to what he just did, or is he just throwing shit at the wall and changing his mind back and forth whenever he sees fit?

If I give him the benefit of the doubt, you can see how where we landed was a plan a couple of years in the making.

This approach goes entirely against the grain of both his playing and coaching career. It is hard to believe it was all by design, and his organizational skills have left a lot to be desired.
