Frosted Flakes: Why Were These Volleyball Matches During The Day?

Yesterday, I found myself checking for updates at my lunch time to see if I could find out what time the Huskers were playing. Originally with the 1:30 plan, I was going to have to miss out on most of the game and I was kind of bummed. Then I heard that they weren’t starting until later and as soon as I finished my after school duty and got back to my classroom, I turned on the game to watch while I worked.

When it was time to leave, I felt kind of stuck. It was in the middle of the third set and I had two kids to pick up at different places and I wasn’t sure I’d be home in time to catch the rest of the game. I opted for Husker.com radio and just had to miss a good portion of it as well. Then I got home for about the last 10 points of the game.

Why did we have to do this? Why couldn’t these regional finals have been played in two separate nights? Maybe there is a logical reason for this and I just don’t know it, but it seems to me that big games should be played at a time in which more people are able to freely watch them. Playing them tonight and tomorrow night would have still given the winning teams at least a day to prepare before playing again on Thursday.

Ok, I’m done complaining.

The volleyball team played a great season and I am bummed to see them not make it further in the tournament. I’m interested to see which, if any, seniors we will see back on this team next season.
