Frosted Flakes: Snow Day – Corn Nation

It’s been quite a while since we’ve had this much snow around here. Yesterday was crazy, it was snowing when I woke up and it was still snowing when I went to bed.

While I was snow blowing the driveway, for the second time, I was thinking about some fun snow days that I’ve had.

Obviously, as a young child waking up to hear we had a snow day on the radio or seeing it scroll on the tv was always exciting. As I got older, I preferred to go to school so that I could hang out with my friends. I lived in the country and if we had a snow day, there was no hanging out.

One day my sophomore year though, we went to school and then by 10 am they decided to cancel. Someone decided to have a snow day party at their house and since I was still in town I went, that was fun until my older brother showed up shortly after I arrived to take me home. He could be such a fun hater, I didn’t know why he had to be so responsible.

We rarely got snow days in college, as most students were required to live on campus, but they were fun when we got them. I remember once going to a “beach party” at a dorm room they had even turned up the heat in the room to make it feel the right temperature for a beach party.

If you got a snow day yesterday, I hope you enjoyed it.

Now on to the flakes.
