My kids got quite a few project gifts for Christmas. I generally encourage these gifts, as I think it’s good for them to use their brains and follow written and oral directions, but I do find a lot of effort being put in on my part.
I know, I should be grateful for the time spent with my kids, and I am. But the time is not always pleasant. I mean some of the screws on these things are tiny and that gets frustrating.
So far in the past couple weeks, my husband and I have “helped” build a Harry Potter Whomping Willow Lego set (okay, I thought that was really cool), a tin can robot ( I had a to drink a beer so he had a can for that), a mega cyborghand, gear towers with for a motorized gear set, set up a growth capsule for crystals to grow. and put stickers on a billion paint by sticker pictures, as the youngest one prefers someone to do those with him.
I do have to say that all of the things that we have helped build have turned out pretty cool. They’ve just really tested our patience.
Have you had to help on any projects like this?
