Frosted Flakes and Pigskin: Which Huskers Could We See Inducted Into The Pro Football Hall of Fame?

Nathaniel Perlow: Corn Nation

I went to the the Pro Football Hall of Fame with my father and brother on Father’s Day. Going there is a great experience for all football fans. One of my favorite parts was ready about the early history of pro football and the frequent rule changes that came about during that period.

Another one of the highlights for me was going into the bust hall and walking by all the bronze busts of the people who were inducted into the Hall of Fame. Five of them played college football at the University of Nebraska: Guy Chamberlain, Roy “Link” Lyman, Bob “Boomer” Brown, Will Shields and Mick Tingelhoff. Reading their stories and watching their highlights were pretty special.

It made me think about what other Huskers might be selected in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Ndamukong Suh comes to mind. Sam Koch revolutionized the punt in the NFL. Roger Craig was a key player in the 49ers dynasty. Irving Fryar had an illustrious career. Maybe those four will be in the HOF someday. What other players come to mind? Have you ever been to the Pro Football HOF? Let’s hear about it in the comments.
