Nebraska head coach Scott Frost met with members of the media following Wednesday’s practice. Frost talked about quarterback Logan Smothers’ pass game improvement.

“(Logan Smothers) has done a good job and Coach Verduzco did a good job with him,” Frost said. “That part of his game has improved a lot along with other areas. It is a good opportunity for him and it is a good opportunity for us to see what he can do.”

Frost discussed Iowa’s success in forcing turnovers.

“They do a great job on the back half just keeping eyes on the football,” Frost said. “Staying in their zones and not overreacting to anything and trying to keep the ball in front of them. They are opportunistic when balls go up and everybody sees the football. They have done a good job going and getting it. Particularly early in the year they created a ton of turnovers and that led to wins for them.”

He also talked on how he hopes a win could impact energy going into the offseason.

“I want to send the seniors out the right way and we would love to have some momentum going into the offseason. It has been such a trying year coming so close to getting so many good teams. We have another one coming in here. I know the guys are going to fight and we have to try to put ourselves in position to win one again and then get it over the hump.”

The Huskers are set to play Iowa on Friday, Nov. 26 at 12:30 p.m. on BTN in Lincoln, Neb., at Memorial Stadium. Radio coverage will be provided by Huskers Radio Network.
