Scott Frost met virtually with members of the media Thursday following practice to discuss the team’s preparation for the Purdue game and the remainder of the regular season.

Frost noted the team’s attitude following last weekend’s loss at Iowa, saying he was impressed with its approach in practice this week.

“The guys didn’t take it very well Saturday, and I hope that put a chip on their shoulder a little bit,” Frost said. “They know they’ve got another big challenge this week going on the road to a good team but their approach to everything they did this week was exactly what I wanted it to be.”

Frost spoke on the mistakes Nebraska needs to avoid to come out successful against Purdue.

“We can’t beat ourselves. We’re playing too good of a team this weekend,” Frost said. “It’s hard to sustain drives when you make mistakes and there’s been too many (bad) snaps, too many negative plays. The guys know the importance of it. We’ve got to get buttoned up a little more so we can be more consistent.”

As the team kicks off its December slate, Frost addressed the affect that the unusualness of playing regular-season games so late into the calendar year.

“Our guys want to play more games, and they’re excited to do that,” he said. “We just feel lucky and grateful that we’re getting to play. And we’re going to play any chance we get to play, and we hope we get some more.”

Saturday’s game starts at 11 a.m. (CT) with television coverage provided by BTN and radio coverage provided by the Husker Sports Network.
