Friday Flakes: Who is Going to Kick Field Goals for the Huskers this Fall? Nebraska football

A couple days ago we learned that last year’s field goal kicker, Tristan Alvano, has undergone surgery on his groin and is actually not on the 120 man roster going into fall camp.

Last year Alvano went 9/15 on field goals and made all of his extra point attempts. He also made a 55 yarder against Purdue.

It sounds like he should be back sooner than later and Special Team’s coach Ed Foley said that he’s already kicking but just not putting a lot of strain into those kicks quite yet. Still a groin surgery for a kicker makes me a bit nervous.

It is still concerning at this point especially for a program that hasn’t had a decent field goal kicker since black and white television.
