Last Saturday was a gut punch. It opened up a grand canyon of criticism. Most of it earned. Some of it unearned.
Regardless, there is nothing Scott Frost and his team can do to change the debacle that was Illinois.
What it can do, however, is win the next two games. That is completely under the control of this team.
Then they go into breach. It’ll be against possibly the best team in the country with the best player in the country. They’ll lose and it could be bad. They’ll lose but maybe it would be respectable.
Move on to Michigan State and Northwestern. They could go 0-2, 1-1 or 2-0.
It’s their opportunity. It’s an opportunity to start 4-2.
That’s it. It’s just an opportunity to start changing the narrative.
