Former Nebraska Signee Announces Visit to NU This Weekend

Dominick Watt is giving it another go. The 6-foot-1, 200 pound wide receiver out of Garden City Community College in Kansas, who was originally committed and signed to play for the Huskers back in 2018, announced that he will be visiting Nebraska this weekend.

Ultimately, Watt signed his NLI to play football for Garden City because he was not able to qualify academically to play for Nebraska. NU head coach Scott Frost said in August of 2018 that they “fought for the end” to get Watt on campus but ultimately could not officially sign him.

“We’re certainly going to keep track of him and would love to get back in the mix of recruiting him down the road,” Frost said at the time.  “We recruited him for a reason and we’ll try to stick with him.”

In 2018, Watt hauled in 16 catches for 188 yards in 10 games played for Garden City.  The native of Hollywood, Florida was rated four stars by Rivals coming out of high school and was ranked 45th overall at his position.  He received offers from Auburn, Cincinnati and Florida among a whole host of others, before settling on Nebraska.

The Huskers are hosting a second Friday Night Lights Camp this Friday, which will be open to the public. The camp will run from 6 to 8 p.m., with Memorial Stadium’s gates opening up at 5 p.m.
