For $25, fans can attend Nebraska football practice Aug. 3 to help raise NIL funds

Fans who want an early glimpse of Nebraska football may now pay to do so as the university announced a new way to generate name, image and likeness funds across multiple sports.

Billed as the “Big Red Preview” by the athletic department and 1890 Nebraska — which became the school’s official NIL collective earlier this week — the Huskers will hold an open practice inside Memorial Stadium on Aug. 3. Gates will open at 6 p.m., with workouts beginning around 6:30.

Tickets are $25 each, all paperless and all general admission. They go on sale Thursday at 10 a.m. All proceeds will support NU student-athletes across all athletic programs.

Fall camp begins July 31, with the open session coming three days later under the lights. NU starts its season Aug. 31 at home against UTEP.

“We’re excited to work with Nebraska Athletics and Husker Football in hosting the Big Red Preview,” 1890 Nebraska CEO Carson Schott said in a statement. “This will be a great opportunity for Husker fans to take in a summer evening football practice with friends and family while supporting NIL initiatives for our amazing student-athletes.”
