Final thoughts as a buff fan who’s been commenting on this sub for the past couple weeks

First off, thanks for all the help with recommendations for the travel, parking, restaurants, etc.. Got to meet Bud Crawford and train at his gym, hit up Joslyn Museum that opened early. It was a special time

I had a great time exploring Nebraska. Stayed in Omaha, saw as much as possible, went to some really cool spots, and throughout the entire trip met nothing but extremely kind, friendly people. Really grateful for it all.

During the game, I’m decked out in CU gear surrounded by only Husker fans. Had a great time despite the ass kicking. Everyone was talking shit, but in an extremely positive way, just jabbing, nothing personal or mean. I’ve said it my whole life, it embarrasses me how some people in boulder treat opposing fans. I’ve been apologetic about it for 31 years.

You guys have something special. I’ve been to OU, USC, Boulder, CSU, AF, Ole Miss, Baylor, and Miami. Nothing comes close to what I experienced last night. Memorial Stadium is fucking magnificent. That was something special that again, despite the complete ass kicking we took, the depression that came with it, I will always cherish that night for the rest of my life.

I ran into multiple Husker fans that talked to me about basically how, “yeah we expect to be something we’re never gonna be again. It’s just not realistic”. Very humble and I get it after the last 20 years of play. But trust me when I say this, as a hated rival of you guys, like fuck that. This school 100% should with the top dogs of the sport. I’ve never seen a fan base as passionate, a stadium as massive, the facilities as good as you guys have. I understand being humble, but as a complete outsider, I vehemently disagree with doing that. Get to the top. And dominate. The crowd does EXACTLY what they’re supposed to do every single down and it was so impressive to witness. In Denver, the broncos fans do it correctly like y’all, they stfu during offensive drives. In boulder everyone is still screaming and it drives the shit out of me. You could hear a pin drop in Memorial Stadium when the offense was on the field, as it should be.

I know I’m rambling on here but I just wanted to give my respect. I’ll always root against you guys, but tbh, it’s kinda like watching the Red Wings in hockey for me. I know you’re supposed to be good and it doesn’t feel right when you’re not. After meeting so many people around all the places I visited, I silently root for y’all now. I know Rhule is the coach to bring you guys back. Idk why ANYONE would leave this fucking place. Riola literally has the fans bowing to him in the stands, if I were him Georgia can kick rocks man, he’s a God here.

Thanks again, hope we get to renew this rivalry sooner than 20 fucking years, never thought I’d say it, but “Gooo Biiiiggg Reddddd” 😉

Edit: someone who recorded the game, find the footage of a CU fan clapping for the huskers. Baseball jersey and a hoodie under it. I swear to God I’m gonna cry if I got on TV doing that shit 😂
