According to ESPN’s matchup predictor, the Colorado Buffaloes are expected to lose their Week 2 matchup against the Nebraska Cornhuskers.

ESPN analytics currently give the Buffs a 39.7% chance of beating the Huskers in Lincoln on Saturday. While both teams have since undergone significant roster changes, Colorado stormed past Nebraska at Folsom Field last season, 36-14.

In mid-August, ESPN’s matchup predictor was forecasting a much closer Week 2 rivalry battle, placing the Buffs at 48.1%.

Although UTEP is a weaker opponent compared to North Dakota State, it’s fair to say Nebraska enjoyed a more satisfying Week 1 victory. True freshman quarterback Dylan Raiola impressed in his college debut, wide receiver Isaiah Neyor racked up over 120 receiving yards and Nebraska’s defense forced two interceptions in the 40-7 win.

Led by quarterback Shedeur Sanders and wide receivers Travis Hunter and Jimmy Horn Jr., Colorado’s offense also thrived in its 31-26 win, but even head coach Deion Sanders admitted afterward that the Buffs have much to improve upon.

Colorado and Nebraska will kick off at 5:30 p.m. MT on Saturday (NBC).
