Dual-threat QB Martinez commits to Huskers

Nebraska head coach Scott Frost has his quarterback.

Adrian Martinez from Fresno, CA announced his commitment to the Huskers on Wednesday evening.

Martinez was one of the first players to be offered a Nebraska scholarship on Dec. 2; the day Frost’s hiring was announced.

Martinez had an official visit to Lincoln last weekend, and had an in-home visit from Frost on Tuesday night.

Frost, who’s been in Orlando this week helping UCF prepare for the Peach Bowl, flew round trip to Fresno to see Martinez, who had previously been committed to Tennessee.

Martinez is ranked as the No. 8 dual threat quarterback in the country on 247 Sports. Martinez will sign on Dec. 20 and enroll in classes at UNL in January.

This marks the fourth Husker commitment since Sunday. Nebraska now has 11 signees in the 2018 class, a class that now ranks 54th in the country and 13th in the Big Ten.
