Did the move to the Big Ten hurt Nebraska baseball?

I hear this getting brought up from time to time. I disagree with the move hurting baseball, but only by a little bit:

The seasons prior to the move weren’t great at all, just flipping back through the seasons after our CWS run, and we really fell out of bed.

2006: 42-17 Nebraska would go 0-2 in our own regional here. I’d say our struggles started here, with what should’ve been an extremely manageable regional, only Miami was the other “big dog” in our regional.

2007: 32-27

2008: 41-16-1 Same story here, Nebraska gets bounced out of their own regional. Only going 1-2, and being completely shut out by Oral Roberts in the elimination game.

2009: 25-28-1

2010: 27-27

2011: 30-25 (still Big XII, btw)

2012: 35-23 The first season in the Big Ten. Purdue won both the regular season conference championship, and the tournament championship. Nebraska did not get an invite into the NCAA tournament here.

The point is, we’ve been having these rollercoaster years prior to jumping ship to the Big Ten, and we’ve looked lost in tournament play back then too. I personally feel like Nebraska’s success was on borrowed time after DVH left for Fayetteville myself. They haven’t made it to a super regional since 2005, and our final seasons in the Big XII, we were getting beat up by MIZZOU at one point lol
