Danny Kaelin Delivers ‘Dimes’ During Nebraska Spring Practice

“Danny Dimes.”

After the open portion of Nebraska football practice Tuesday, that was the label applied to freshman quarterback Daniel Kaelin in multiple tweets from reporters, including the post below.

A couple of on-the-money long throws by Kaelin seemed to serve notice that he should not be counted out in the three-way competition for the starting job at QB. Fellow freshman Dylan Raiola and returning starter Heinrich Haarberg are the other contenders, with Raiola widely considered to have the inside track.

It was the Huskers’ seventh practice of spring. Speaking with the media afterward were special teams coordinator Ed Foley, defensive backs coach Evan Cooper, and players Isaac Gifford, Tristan Alvano and Brian Buschini.
