I loved watching the women’s gymnastics floor exercise final yesterday morning. While the USA did not come out on top, but Simone Biles and Jordan Chiles did take the silver and the bronze.

There were so many things that had me in awe. First of all, the amazing power and skill of the competitors is just crazy. I also love the way that Simone Biles and Rebeca Andrade compete with each other and also support each other. I believe that having competitors that bring out the best in both your competition but also your humanity it is really a beautiful thing. To see Biles and Chiles “bow down” to Andrade on the podium was really cool. My heart broke for the Romanian competitor who thought that she had won the bronze, but then lost out when the appeal for Chiles’ score was approved. I was happy to see Jordan win, but thinking it was yours and then having it taken away has to be soul crushing. I always forget how amazing this sport is to watch.
