Coach John Cook said this week that all of their goals were still in front of them.
A Friday win(3-2) at #7 Minnesota(20-5, 14-3 Big Ten) goes a long way toward reaching those.
“It was a wild up and down match,” said Cook.
The #6 Huskers(23-3, 15-2 Big Ten) go out quick, winning the first two sets 25-22 and 25-18. Nebraska .220 and .385 while holding Minnesota to .186 and .241 for the two sets.

Then the Golden Gophers would go off.
Minnesota hit .412 and .419 in sets three and four to dominate Nebraska 25-19 and 25-11. The Huskers hit just .067 in the fourth set.
“To play at the level you need to play at to beat Minnesota is a really high level,” said Cook. “To do that for three hours is hard to do for any team. And Minnesota was playing great.”

In much the way Nebrasketball took over the extra period earlier in the evening, the Huskers were dominant in the fifth set, hitting a blazing .643 to rout Minnesota 15-3 and take the match. Nebraska is 5-1 on the season in fifth sets.
“We’ll take it,” said Cook. “We pride ourselves on trying to be strong in the end.”

Freshman Madi Kubik had team highs of 20 kills and 17 digs. Junior Lexi Sun eclipsed the 1,000 career kills mark with 18 on the night, while sophomore Nicklin Hames dished out 56 assists.
Nebraska next heads to #5 Wisconsin(20-5, 16-1 Big Ten) on Sunday, with a conference championship on the line.
