Coach Williams Call-In Show Tonight

Nebraska Coach Amy Williams joins host Matt Coatney on the Nebraska Women’s Basketball Radio Show tonight (Thursday, Dec. 2) on the Huskers Radio Network.

The hour-long show can be heard across the Huskers Radio Network stations and on Huskers.com beginning at 7 p.m. (CT), while fans can join in the conversation by calling in their questions at (402) 413-2400.

Nebraska is coming off an impressive 86-60 pounding of previously unbeaten Wake Forest on Wednesday night in Winston-Salem, N.C., as part of the Big Ten/ACC Challenge.

The Huskers improved to 8-0 with the win, becoming the first Nebraska team to start 8-0 since the 2009-10 Huskers opened 30-0 on their way to a Big 12 title. The winning streak also marks NU’s first eight-game winning streak since the 2012-13 Big Ten season (Jan. 20-Feb. 28). 

Nebraska’s 26-point win over Wake Forest was the largest by the Big Red against a Power Five opponent on the road since beating Indiana, 67-39 (+29) on Jan. 10, 2013. It also gave the Huskers a three-game road (away or neutral) winning streak since reeling off 10 straight victories away from Pinnacle Bank Arena under Coach Williams in 2017-18.

Two of Nebraska’s three wins away from home have come against 2021 NCAA Tournament teams (Wake Forest, Drexel) while the combined record for the Demon Deacons, Dragons and the Toreros from San Diego is 17-5 with three of the losses to the Big Red.

Statistically, the Huskers continue to lead the nation in scoring margin (+34.2 ppg) and defensive rebounds per game (36.0 rpg), while ranking among the top five teams nationally in assists (2nd), rebounds (3rd), rebounds per game (3rd), field goal percentage defense (3rd), three-point field goal percentage (4th), free throws made (4th), free throw attempts (5) and scoring offense (5th).

Coach Williams and Coatney are also expected to be joined by national play-by-play commentator Sloane Martin, who will be calling Nebraska’s upcoming Big Ten opener at Minnesota on Monday (Dec. 6). Tip-off between the Huskers and Golden Gophers (6-4) is set for 7 p.m., with a live television broadcast by the Big Ten Network.

Coach Williams is set to appear on a full slate of Nebraska Women’s Basketball Radio Shows with Coatney during the month of December.
