Brett Bielema

Am I way off for thinking Brett Bielema isn't nearly as good a coach as his reputation would suggest? I've seen people talk about Bielema as a really good coach who always has solid teams but I think a lot of those people are still thinking of Wisconsin era Bielema. Since leaving UW his teams have consistently been bad to mediocre.

Here is my evidence.

Brett Bielema hasn't won more than 8 games in a season since Russell Wilson was his QB 13 years ago.

He's under .500 as a coach in his post-Wisconsin career.

In the 8 seasons he's coached since 2012 he has equal number, 4, seasons above .500 and below .500

Post 2011 Nebraska has had 4 seasons with fewer than 5 losses. Brett Bielema has had 0 seasons with fewer than 5 losses.

I think current Brett Bielema is like 2010s Mike Riley. They both were good coaches at one point in time but they lost "it" and it took a while for their reputation to catch up to reality.
