The Big Ten Network today announced expanded televised coverage of spring volleyball across three sports. BTN’s schedule for 2025 spring volleyball matches includes three women’s volleyball games, three MPSF men’s volleyball matches and three matches from the MPSF Beach Volleyball Championships.
BTN’s coverage of women’s spring volleyball begins Wednesday, April 9, as reigning national champion Penn State hosts Pitt at 7 p.m. ET. Coverage continues Wednesday, April 16, at 8:30 p.m. ET, featuring Wisconsin hosting Marquette for a match in Madison. Additionally, Nebraska and new head coach Dani Busboom Kelly face off with Kansas from the Bob Devaney Sports Center, Saturday, April 26, at 8 p.m. ET.
Four-time Big Ten Coach of the Year John Cook joins BTN as an analyst for the network’s volleyball coverage. The three-time AVCA National Coach of the Year retired with the fifth-best winning percentage all-time for a Division I volleyball coach, and his record of 722-103 at Nebraska ranks as the best winning percentage for any Division I program over the last 25 years. Cook led the Huskers to four national championships and oversaw Volleyball Day in Nebraska in 2023, setting a world record for the largest crowd to watch a women’s sporting event with 92,003 fans in Memorial Stadium.
Alongside Cook, Big Ten Network veterans Kristin Carpenter Steadman, Emily Ehman, Connor Onion, Larry Punteney and Chris Vosters will anchor the spring volleyball broadcasts on BTN.
Three MPSF men’s volleyball matches will air live on BTN, beginning with a to-be-determined wildcard selection airing on April 12. On April 17, BTN will cover the battle of Los Angeles as two-time defending national champion UCLA hosts their crosstown rival USC at 10:30 p.m. ET from Pauley Pavilion. BTN will also televise the championship match of the MPSF Championship Tournament from Pepperdine University, Saturday, April 26, at 10:30 p.m. ET.
The three final matches of the MPSF Beach Volleyball Championship, from Spiker Beach Volleyball Club in Huntington Beach, Calif., will air live on BTN, Friday, April 25. The matches, including the championship match, will air at 11:30 a.m. ET, 1 p.m. ET and 3 p.m. ET.
With the addition of these televised spring volleyball matches, BTN’s volleyball coverage now runs from August through April. During the 2024 season, BTN televised a record 68 women’s volleyball matches, with more than 200 additional matches streaming exclusively on B1G+. Along with record viewership on B1G+, BTN aired nine of the top 20 most-watched women’s volleyball matches of the 2024 season.
Digital coverage will be available via the @B1GVolleyball accounts on X, Instagram, Bluesky and YouTube. All television programming on BTN also streams live via the FOX Sports App, with a complete schedule below.
