Upcoming: At Michigan State.
Momentary Musing: Is there anything to say? If you are an Ohio State are you bored? Is there anything to learn this week against Michigan State? I sure hope so.
2 – Penn State
Previous: 56-0 Win over Kent State.
Movement: Hold.
Upcoming: Illinois at Home.
Momentary Musing: Penn State keeps blowing teams out and I am now really interested in this game against Illinois. I expect Penn State to win but is Illinois going to push the Nittany Lions?
3 – Oregon
Previous: Bye Week
Movement: Up 1.
Upcoming: At UCLA.
Momentary Musing: They had a bye week but their first Big Ten game comes against UCLA. Weird times.
4 – Michigan
Previous: 27-24 Win over #11 USC.
Movement: Up 1.
Upcoming: Minnesota at Home.
Momentary Musing: Good job Sherrone Moore. Was this a matchup of heavy weight fighters as USC’s coach said after the game? Or are these two teams just middle of road Big Ten teams? With USC playing UCLA and Michigan playing Minnesota this week I’m not sure we are going to find out if they are for real.
5 – Iowa
Previous: 31-14 Win over Minnesota.
Movement: Up 1.
Upcoming: Bye Week.
Momentary Musing: I love watching Iowa lose, but I probably enjoy watching P.J. Fleck lose even more.
6 – USC
Previous: 27-24 Loss to #18 Michigan.
Movement: Down 3.
Upcoming: Wisconsin at Home.
Momentary Musing: Well I was wrong about this one. I expected USC to win by 14+ and Sherrone Moore and the Wolverines proved me wrong. Was this the welcoming to the Big Ten type of game?
7 – Indiana
Previous: 52-14 Win over Charlotte.
Movement: Up 1.
Upcoming: Maryland at Home.
Momentary Musing: Another convincing win and I know that they haven’t played anybody but Indiana has outscored its opponents 202-37. I’m extremely interested in the matchup with Maryland.
8 – Illinois
Previous: 31-24 Win over #22 Nebraska.
Movement: Up 1.
Upcoming: At Penn State.
Momentary Musing: Want to give credit where it is due. Illinois outcoached and outplayed Nebraska and it isn’t close. I hope Illinois goes on a run this season and getting to nine wins is definitely a possibility. They likely lose this week to Penn State but they could make it interesting.
9 – Rutgers
Previous: 26-23 Win over Virginia Tech.
Movement: Up 1.
Upcoming: Washington at Home.
Momentary Musing: Could Rutgers get to 10 wins? Absolutely. I would pick them to win six of their remaining games and that doesn’t include Nebraska or Illinois. Buy stock in Rutgers.
10 – Wisconsin
Previous: Bye Week.
Movement: Up 1.
Upcoming: At USC.
Momentary Musing: After the bye week and licking their wounds they get to see USC who lost a close one to Michigan. Wisconsin is going to have to run the ball but it looks like they will start 2-2.
11 – Nebraska
Previous: 31-24 Loss to #24 Illinois.
Movement: Down 4.
Upcoming: At Purdue.
Momentary Musing: We can complain about the officials and all that stuff but Illinois looked like the better team. Even if Raiola completes that pass on 3rd down with three minutes left and Nebraska wins I still walk away from that game that Illinois is better. Sixty yards of personal foul penalties.
12 – Washington
Previous: 24-5 Win over Northwestern.
Movement: Hold.
Upcoming: Bye Week.
Momentary Musing: That is a scorigami that you do not see very often. This was a win they had to get. Now they get ready for Rutgers in a week which I would probably pick Rutgers to win. Oh and then they play Michigan, Iowa, Indiana, USC and Penn State in that order. Brutal.
13 – Maryland
Previous: 38-20 Win over Villanova.
Movement: Up 1.
Upcoming: At Indiana.
Momentary Musing: Time to get ready for a good Indiana team that has blown everybody out though they haven’t played anybody of note. Maryland has played a much tougher schedule which might help them in this game.
14 – Michigan State
Previous: 23-19 Loss to Boston College.
Movement: Down 1.
Upcoming: Ohio State at Home.
Momentary Musing: Right now Vegas has Ohio State favored by 24 points. If Michigan State keeps it closer than that then I would consider it a win at this point. But Ohio State has played nobody.
15 – UCLA
Previous: 34-17 Loss to #16 LSU
Movement: Up 3.
Upcoming: Oregon at Home.
Momentary Musing: Hey, I wrote this team off but they were tied with #16 ranked LSU at half. They didn’t score in the second half but there appears to be some improvement.
16 – Minnesota
Previous: 31-14 Loss to Iowa.
Movement: Down 1.
Upcoming: At Michigan.
Momentary Musing: What is the approval rating for P.J. Fleck in Minnesota? Woof.
17 – Northwestern
Previous: 24-5 Loss to Washington.
Movement: Down 1.
Upcoming: Bye Week.
Momentary Musing: Again, I don’t think this school cares about football. But that check is probably nice.
18 – Purdue
Previous: 38-21 Loss to Oregon State.
Movement: Down 1.
Upcoming: Nebraska at Home.
Momentary Musing: Purdue is having trouble stopping the run and Nebraska is coming to town. If they can slow down Nebraska’s running game then they can definitely get this one from Nebraska.
