Big Ten 2024 Win Totals Are Out: Where I Would Bet My Monopoly Money for Nebraska and Three Other Big Ten Over/Under Bets Huskers Football News

Well Nebraska fans, even though it looks like Matt Rhule could have a true freshman starting at quarterback for Nebraska, at least one odds setter is setting the Husker’s over/under win total at 7.5.

For the first time in my life, I might look forward to driving to Iowa. In this case, it would be to place the following four bets based off of those win totals.

  1. Under on Nebraska at 7.5
  2. Over on Minnesota at 5.0
  3. Under on USC at 7.5
  4. Over for Wisconsin at 6.5

Nebraska – Under 7.5 Wins

It is my opinion that the fact that the Nebraska number is at 7.5 is because of Matt Rhule’s history in that his programs generally take a big jump in his second season. However, as stated above, we should be extremely hesitant as the quarterback room is currently made up of two true freshmen and junior Heinrich Haarberg.

To be clear, as I’ve said before I would feel more comfortable with the idea of Haarberg as the starter for the season opener but it appears from the chatter that the it’s the assumption that Dylan Raiola will be the game one starter.

Do I think Nebraska will get to six or seven wins this season? Yes.

Do I think Nebraska will get to 8+? No. Though, I really hope so.

Minnesota – Over 5.0 Wins

There might not be a coach I dislike less than P.J. Fleck. I think he’s a used car salesman who targets people with bad credit who will tell them to ask their parents to co-sign a loan.

With that said, I think he can coach football and I like his physical style.

I think he will get Minnesota to bowl eligibility.

They won six games last season and I think they can do that or better. If he gets Minnesota to 7-8 wins then he probably should take advantage and jump ship.

University of Southern California – Under 7.5 Wins

I am not sold on Lincoln Riley as a head coach. I am a Chicago Bears fan and I am extremely excited for the future with Riley’s quarterback at the helm in Caleb Williams. However, it is interesting how a team with the number one pick at quarterback can go 7-5 in a place like USC. Williams isn’t considered a quarterback with “great upside” but a quarterback who is a generational talent. Yet in one of the easiest places to recruit, Riley’s team goes 7-5 during the regular season (beat Louisville in the bowl game without Caleb Williams).

If Riley succeeds in the Big Ten then I think he’ll be primed for an NFL job. But as Scott Frost learned, it will be an adjustment.

At least UCLA is there for them to play in-conference. They should get that win.

Wisconsin – Over 6.5 Wins

There are two reasons why I think they will do better than the 6.5 win total.

First, I have PTSD and until Nebraska beats Wisconsin I will always believe they are a superior program.

Second, their head coach Luke Fickell is a really good coach.

That’s it.
