Anyone ever read “The Nebraska Way”?

There was a time when I bought every Nebraska football book that came out. I had gotten a Kindle version of “The Nebraska Way” a few years back and just figured it was more of a homage to the 90s (it is but maybe not in the same vein as I had read).

I believe it came out in 2007 before Callahan’s last season and it seems the firing of Doak Ostergard is maybe the main driving force.

A couple takeaways — Osborne is portrayed as saintly as ever. Issues (e.g., LP or Christian Peter) are addressed, but I felt downplayed a bit. Steve Pederson is the big heel in all of this. Callahan comes out just a tad better than Pederson, but not by much.

I think what struck me the most was the timing and hindsight of the Frost debacle. Here is a book, from what I could gather, that came out before Callahan’s 4th season (with some Frost quotes in there too). Yet after Frost was actually fired, we still seem to get only bits and pieces of what went on or what went wrong.

I hope that book gets written someday.

Anyway, if you read it, would love to know your thoughta.
