No doubt he had his worst game of the season last week. IMO, it wasn’t even the desperate INTs that were the worst part, it was failing to hit a wide-open Toure for the TD at the end of the half.

**HOWEVER**, for all those calling for Logan Smothers to play, it’s important to know that Adrian is objectively having one of the best seasons of his career despite playing one of the toughest schedules in the country:

* #12 in Points Responsible For (140) / #1 in Big 10
* #13 in Passing Yards (2,264) / #3 in Big 10
* #16 in Total Offense (301.7 ypg) / #2 in Big 10
* #28 in Passing Yards per Game (251.56) / #3 in Big 10
* #35 in Passing Efficiency (152.41) / #4 in Big 10

As a team, we’re abysmal in Special Teams, our defense is middle of the road, and we don’t have a reliable running back to pick up the slack from poor O-line play.

* We don’t have a single skill player that has broken the Top 50 in All Purpose Yards (Kenneth Walker @ MSU is #6 with 1,230 yards)
* We don’t rank in the Top 50 for 1st Down Defense
* We don’t have a single defensive TD this year (Ohio State has 6, Iowa has 3)
* #31 in Penalties per Game (5.22)
* #44 in Total Defense (348.4 ypg)

Net-net, it’s true what Frost & company are saying… Adrain is not without blame, but our struggles go well beyond QB play.
