As the NFL preseason ends, former Nebraska and Kansas State quarterback Adrian Martinez will hope he’s done enough to secure a roster spot with the Jets.
Martinez joined the Jets’ preseason roster after a successful UFL season, during which he won UFL MVP and a championship with the Birmingham Stallions.
He finished his final preseason game, completing 12 of his 20 pass attempts for 99 yards. The Jets took down the Giants 10-6 as Martinez helped the team go 3-0 in the preseason.
Martinez’s totaled 270 passing yards in the preseason and went 25-for-47 through the air. He threw one interception and no touchdowns. The dual-threat quarterback also rushed for 51 yards on six attempts.
While veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers projects to be the starter for the Jets, Martinez also shared preseason snaps with fellow veteran Tyrod Taylor and rookie Andrew Peasley.
