A little dose of Kool-Aid to get you through the week

I was curious as to whether or not Nebraska could win the Big 10 West by winning out, so I sat down and did the math…

…and it quickly turned out that, yeah, quite easily we could (mathematically). Winning out would put us at 5-4 in the conference, with crucial head-to-head wins over Iowa, Wisconsin, and Purdue. We also already have the H2H over Northwestern, so all of those teams could finish as good as 5-4 in the conference and we could still win the division, so long as Minnesota and Illinois (lol) go 4-5 or worse. The only *huge* upset we’d need to have would be Northwestern *or* Illinois beating the eventual winner of Iowa vs. Minnesota, in addition to Wisconsin beating Iowa, Minnesota, and Purdue (go Badgers, I guess?)

However, I also noticed something else. If the rest of the season looked like this – or even something like it –

Nebraska would hold head-to-head visitors over Purdue, Iowa, Wisconsin, and Northwestern, therefore winning the Big 10 West at 6-6 overall and 4-5 in the conference… *despite still losing to Ohio State.*

*Note: before any of you call this unrealistic, I have Illinois finishing 2-7. It’s perfectly realistic.*
