2nd Half Summary – Through the Sober lens…

Being that I was doing super great by the 2nd half yesterday, I decided to rewatch the game this morning, just the 2nd half offensive possessions. There was a good bit of hate flying in the game thread about play calling so I wanted to go look at it again and remember everything:

**1ST DRIVE – “one long run and done”**

QB run for about 20

Run up the gut

High snap, Alante Brown almost tackles Luke and falls down in front of a shovel pass that gets dumpstered

Attempt a screen, noone open and luke is running for his life immediately… still not a great snap

**2ND DRIVE – “Mother of fuck, learn to snap a ball Jurgens”**

Bad snap, almost gets past Luke, sack

Luke tosses an out to get some back for 3rd down

Personnel changes, hilarious confusion, almost burn a timeout

Sacked

**3RD DRIVE – “Long drive that ends in a FG”**

Bad snap, busted play Luke turns into a nice gain

Long run, long run, Wandale almost breaks one but gets a hilarious facemask

Quick out to Betts on soft coverage

WTF with the personnel changes, again, wtf with the personnel

Another Bad snap

Bunch of runs up the gut hoping we somehow make it in with a stacked box…. FG

**4TH DRIVE – “Burning clock until picked”**

Another Wandale run for nothing

Luke with a decent run, after he almost gets sacked immediately… thank the lord he is that fast

Another great Luke run, this time off tackle

Luke murdered as he throws, pretty piss poor attempt to get to the ball by Marvin Scott, picked off

**5TH DRIVE – “More clock burn… pretty foolish decision by Luke”**

Wandale run… there is only 3:30 left in the game..

Wandale run… burning PSU timeouts

WTF throw by Luke over the middle… and it was to Warner.

I think when the coaches describe WR’s not being
open, I think they have Warner in their mind. ha. Its like he gathered defenders on his way to the ball

Not as much of an offense comment, but holy shit nice punt.

**SUMMARY:**

We did get a bit conservative but not nearly as much as I remembered during the game. We also had a hilarious shitload of mistakes that I believe are just lots of youth mixed in with some very, very odd personnel change ideas.

Things that stuck out:

* How are the bad snaps still happening this often?

* Luke made several plays out of broken ones or plays where it almost looked like we forgot to block somebody.

* Wandale may have scored on that damn facemask play. He was going to get a LOT more than that 15 yards they got from the penalty

* We got more conservative as we had more self inflicted mistakes, especially at the end. Except for the last play where he called up a pass to try to seal the game on 3rd and 5… which Luke made a bad decision on.*

Overall, Luke played WAY better than I remembered in the 2nd half. We did not play well around him at all.
