2023 Nebraska Football Signing Day Recruiting Round Up

Today is a day to rejoice! We have the class of 2023 inking their letter of intent to officially join the Big Red Family!

Dwight Bootle, CB, 5’11 175, Miami, Fla. (Miami Palmetto)

Starting off, we have a legacy defensive back & one of my favorite recruits in the class!

Bootle quietly earned his respect as one of the state of Florida’s best defensive backs the last three seasons. He comes battle-tested from arguably the best football region in the country. Dwight Bootle Analysis

Kwinten Ives, ATH, 6’3” 185, Palmyra, NJ. (Palmyra)

Next we have an intriguing prospect from the Garden State! Matt Rhule sees something to develop here.

Kwinten Ives was a prospect that Coach Barthel immediately zeroed in on as soon as he was hired. His frame is more of a defensive back than a RB, but you have to watch the film. He seemingly scored on every single play! I am excited to have him here. Kwinten Ives Analysis

Gunnar Gottula, OT, 6’6” 290, Lincoln, Neb. (Lincoln Southeast)

A homegrown Husker. And yes, he can play o-line. I mean, you HAVE to recruit a guy with a name like that. He just sounds like a lineman.

Gunnar Gottula Analysis

Tristan Alvano, K, 6’2” 185, Omaha, Neb. (Westside)

Another homegrown Husker to help the Huskers get back to being Kicker U!

Five-star Tristan Alvano Analysis

Jaylen Lloyd, ATH, 5’10” 160, Omaha, Neb. (Westside)

Another homegrown Husker and a legacy recruit. No surprise, he has speed; Matt Rhule has made it abundantly clear where his recruiting priorities lie.

Jaylin Lloyd Analysis

Rahmir Stewart, S, 5’11” 195, Philadelphia, Penn. (Imhotep Institute Charter)

Nebraska’s first Pennsylvania recruit since 1999.

Rahmir Stewart Analysis

Jason Maciejczak, DT, 6’4” 320, Pierre, SD. (T.F. Riggs)

From that state up north (the Southern Dakota) the Huskers pull in MOAR O-line! Or maybe defensive line. We like getting guys for the trenches on either side of the ball.

Jason Maciejczak Analysis

Jaidyn Doss, WR, 6’1” 195, Raymore, MO (Raymore-Peculiar)

A receiver who also has potential as a returner.

Maverick Noonan, EDGE, 6’4” 225, Omaha, Neb. (Elkhorn South)

Another trench player from within the state’s borders.

Maverick Noonan Analysis

Syncere Safeullah, CB, 6’1” 170, Nashville, Tenn. (Hillsboro High/IMG Academy Postgrad)

I’m going to start working on how to spell and pronounce his name now so I get it right by football season.

Syncere Safeeullah Analysis

Sam Sledge, IOL, 6’4” 270, Omaha, Neb. (Creighton Prep)

Another homegrown Husker. Another player with legacy ties to the program.

Sam Sledge analysis

Princewill Umanmielen, EDGE, 6’4” 225, Manor, Tex. (Manor)

Rhule is serious about getting some pass rushers on the roster.

Princewill Umanmielen analysis

Riley Van Poppel, DT, 6’5” 270, Argyle, Tex. (Argyle)

Another Texan? One would think Nebraska hired a head coach with Lone Star State connections or something…

Riley Van Poppel analysis

Brice Turner, ATH, 6’2” 180, Bay City, Tex. (Bay City)

SPEED!!

Brice Turner analysis

Brock Knutson, OT, 6’7” 285, Scottsbluff, Neb. (Scottsbluff)

Brock Knutson analysis

Dylan Rogers, LB, 6’2” 235, Houston, Tex. (Cy-Woods)

The top prospect in the state is staying home. He was also viewed as a potential edge rusher, but his signing tweet below lists him at wideout, so we’re going with that.

Malachi Coleman analysis

Another native Husker who is seen primarily as an OL recruit, but the signing tweets list him as OL/DL. I guess time will tell, but he appears to be a good one.

Mason Goldman analysis
