13 Huskers Named to NFF Hampshire Honor Society

A total of 13 Nebraska football players were honored Wednesday morning, as they were named to the National Football Foundation & College Football Hall of Fame (NFF) Hampshire Honor Society.

The players, all members of the 2022 Husker football team, include Brant Banks, Timmy Bleekrode, Brian Buschini, Eteva Mauga-Clements, Colton Feist, Trent Hixson, Chris Kolarevic, Wyatt Liewer, Simon Otte, Cameron Pieper, Casey Thompson, Travis Vokolek and Brady Weas. Of the 13 honorees, three are back for the 2023 season, including Timmy Bleekrode, Brian Buschini and Casey Thompson.

Players could qualify if they graduate this spring/summer and completed their final year of playing eligibility in 2022 or if they have already graduated who competed at least three years of college football. All student-athletes on the team maintained a cumulative 3.20 GPA throughout their college careers and were starters or significant contributors during the 2022 season.

The Hampshire Society recipients continues Nebraska football’s tradition of academic excellence. Husker football has 108 Academic All-Americans in program history, including nine NCAA Today’s Top-10 Award winners.
