Nebraska scored 106 points Monday without one of its biggest offseason additions. Sam Orme, the transfer from Belmont, was held out of the 106-64 win over Le Moyne, 247Sports reported.
Orme came in as a game-time decision after missing the exhibition season while working back from a hamstring injury. Fred Hoiberg said Orme had two good full practices before the opener, but he did not feel right before tip and the staff chose not to push it through some soreness.
“We’ve said all along we’re going to be very conservative with this,” Hoiberg said, per 247Sports. “Not push it, not force it. And hopefully he continues on the right trend.”
Orme averaged 12.0 points and 5.7 rebounds per game last season at Belmont.
