No. 5 Nebraska rifle hits the road Sunday for a 7 a.m. CT match at No. 9 Georgia Southern in Statesboro, Ga. The Huskers are 3-4 and coming off a split: a loss to No. 4 Kentucky and a win over then-No. 3 Alaska-Fairbanks.
What carried the Alaska-Fairbanks win
- Sophomore Katlyn Sullivan shot a 598 in air rifle, tying the program record for a sophomore. Maddy Moyer, Grace Corbett and Alivia Perkins share that mark, and Sullivan had hit it twice before.
- Makenzie Larson set a smallbore personal best with a 589.
The opponent
Georgia Southern is 6-3 and coming off a 4,698-4,519 win over Wofford. The teams have split their last two meetings dating back to 2022-23.
Head coach Richard Clark said in Nebraska’s preview that the team has spent the last couple of weeks “reinforcing that the fundamentals will get us the numbers we are looking for come match day.”
After Statesboro
Nebraska closes the fall semester at the WVU Fall Classic on Nov. 14-15.
