Evergreen pillar. As of Nov. 1, 2026. Re-verify capacity and construction language each offseason.
Memorial Stadium in Lincoln has been Nebraska football’s home since 1923. It is where the sellout streak lives, where the Tunnel Walk starts, and where, for the next two seasons, a major rebuild will change the building around the fans in it.
Capacity: read the date on the number
Capacity is a citation trap, so HuskersToday states each figure with its source:
Announced attendance can exceed a listed capacity figure. They measure different things, so we never swap one for the other.

Big Red Rebuild, in brief
From athletics’ April 17 and April 24 releases:
- The University of Nebraska Board of Regents approved the project on April 24, 2026.
- Full construction is scheduled to begin after the 2026 season, with completion targeted for the 2028 season.
- Post-project seating is targeted at about 80,000.
- Season-ticket holders affected by reduced 2027 capacity were told they would be contacted later in 2026.
HuskersToday will not print a 2027 temporary capacity until athletics publishes one.
Gameday basics
- The official schedule lists remaining 2026 home dates. Ohio State on Nov. 21 is the final home game of the regular season.
- Clear-bag, parking and gate rules live on huskers.com’s Football Game Day page. Check it the week of the game, because policies change.
