Texas QB Richard Torres Commits to Nebraska Football

Great news from the land of H-E-B & Gregg Popovich!

Thr Huskers landed the services of 3 star San Antonio quarterback Richard Torres Monday afternoon. The 6’6 210 pound Torres plays his prep ball for Southside High in San Antonio, where he also stars on the basketball court.

He visited Nebraska last weekend & was apparently blown away on his trip to Lincoln. He visited Kansas State this past weekend & immediately committed to Nebraska as soon as he got back home *snickers* so he knew which place was right for him.

The parallels between him & Heinrich Haarberg are CRAZY. They have virtually identical frames. They both have nuclear rockets for throwing arms. Haarberg is a little better as a runner based on his track times but they are otherwise as identical as you can get. Richard will need some time in development before he gets real playing time but he can be a VERY good passer for us in the future.

Besides the aforementioned K-State, Richard also held Power 5 offers from Utah & Washington State, as well as several other G5 schools.

His commitment now leaves Nebraska with the 50th best recruiting class in the nation according to Rivals, while 247 now has the Huskers with the 59th best class in America & the 12th best in the B1G. Hats off to Coaches Verduzco & Frost for getting this stud in the boat.

Welcome to Nebraska, Richard! GBR!
