Start Times Adjusted for 31st Annual Greeno/Dirksen Invite

The Nebraska cross country team will co-host the 31st annual Greeno/Dirksen Invite this Saturday at the Mahoney Golf Course. Originally scheduled for a 10 a.m. start, the meet has been moved up to 9 a.m. due to forecasted temperatures and humidity on Saturday morning. The women’s 5K race is at 9 a.m., followed by the men’s 8K at 9:45 a.m.

The Nebraska men finished sixth at the Augustana Twilight with 172 points in the four-mile race. Zach Van Brocklin led the way for the Huskers with a 19th-place finish, covering the course in 20:21.76. The Husker women posted a runner-up finish in the team standings with 83 points. Taya Skelton and Hannah Godwin paced the women with back-to-back fifth and sixth-place finishes for the Huskers.

Greeno/Dirksen History
The meet began in 1990 when Nebraska Wesleyan combined its meet with Nebraska’s annual meet to form what is now the largest cross country event in the state.

The Huskers have won 13 men’s titles and 17 women’s titles. The men won their last team title in 2015, while the women took home the team crown in 2011. At the Green/Dirksen Invite in 2019, the men took third as a team with 90 points and the Nebraska women placed fourth overall with 109 points.
