Scott Frost’s contract details released

Scott Frost’s contract details were released on Monday.

According to the MOU signed by Frost and athletic director Bill Moos, Frost will receive $5 million annually for seven years, with the contract expiring on December 31st, 2024.

Moos said Sunday the deal stretches seven years for a total of $35 million, because of the confidence put in Frost to turn the football program around.

“I felt that we needed seven years,” Moos said, “and if I’m going to hire one of the premiere coaches in the country, we’re going to pay him a premiere salary.”

Frost’s contract is full of bonuses, including:

  • $100,000 for division title
  • $150,000 for non-College Football Playoff bowl
  • $200,000 for a conference title appearance.
  • $250,000 for New Year’s Six bowl
  • $300,000 for a Big Ten championship
  • $300,000 for College Football Playoff Semi-final appearance
  • $350,000 for a College Football Playoff national title appearance
  • $650,000 for a national championship.

If Frost were to be let go during the contract, he would receive $2.5 million a year for each year remaining on the contract.
